‘Sixer’ J. Murray, 252nd Liverpool Group was awarded the Boy Scouts ‘Gilt’ Gallantry Cross for his gallantry in rescuing a boy from drowning in a pond at Irby Hall, Irby, Lancs on 6 August 1930.
