Thomas Marron (or Marran) was born in Liverpool in July 1895 and was serving as a Greaser in the Cunard White Star Line’s Pasteur at the time of being awarded the B.E.M., his name appearing on a list of candidates sent from Downing Street by Churchill for the King’s approval. Marron served in the Pasteur from July 1941 right through until the end of the War, and he did not retire until January 1968; sold with copied Board of Trade service record, including portrait photographs.
