The 1st (the Royal) Regiment of Foot, a very fine officer’s forage cap badge c1845 to the 2nd Battalion, in silver plate and gilt, being a large crowned Star of the Order of the Thistle, the four silver star sections being overlays, two loop fasteners (Bloomer p5/6 where incorrectly ascribed), near mint state £300-400
