1st The Royal Regiment, a scarce officer’s glengarry badge to the 2nd Battalion c1872-1881, facetted silver star with gilt overlay and green enamel centre backing; the Thistle Motto and Collar positions are reversed and the unit title, ‘THE ROYAL SCOTS’ is on a scroll around the lower half of the mount, gilt section heavily worn, the green enamel lacking and replaced with green lacquered slip, brooch fastener appears to be original £100-150
