Late 13th century, a pewter pilgrim’s ampulla from Canterbury, depicting on one side the martyrdom of Thomas à Beckett, on the other Beckett blessing above four roundels, fleur-de-lis suspension bracket around, height 46 mm, width 44 mm (Medieval finds from London 7 (1998), Spencer 7a). Natural gilding patina, but small area of corrosion has penetrated through the centre of one side
