Charles Warren is confirmed as an Ordinary Seaman aboard Virginie for her action with the Dutch frigate Gelderland, captured in the Western Approaches on 19 May 1808. Two other men of this name are shown on the medal roll, one for the clasp ‘Centaur 26 Aug 1808’ (39 issued), and another for ‘Syria’. None of these three appear to have been recorded on the market before.
