Herbert William Smith enlisted on 12 October 1910. Serving with the 1st Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 4 November 1914. He was discharged due to sickness on 29 March 1916. Awarded the Silver War Badge (not with lot). With copied m.i.c. and roll extract.
