Kale Khan joined the Indian Army on 3 January 1888. Appointed Jemadar in December 1903; Risaldar in December 1904 and Risaldar-Major in August 1917. Appointed Honorary Captain in April 1919. Served on the N.W. Frontier during the first and second Miranzai expeditions, 1891 (I.G.S. 1854 with clasp Samana 1891); on the N.W. Frontier, 1901-02 (I.G.S. 1895 with clasp Waziristan 1901-02). Awarded the I.D.S.M. on 2 May 1913 for service in Bannu on the N.W. Frontier of India, and awarded the O.B.I. 2nd Class on 3 June 1919. With copied research.
