Frank Herbert James was born in Milerton, Alberta, on 26 October 1898. A Farmer by occupation, he enlisted in the 202nd Battalion at Stoney Plain, Alberta, in March 1916, and went out to France in November 1917, as a member of the 49th Battalion. Killed in action during the Battle of Arras on 28 August 1918, aged 19 years, he was buried in the Vis-en-Artois British Cemetery, Harcourt. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Fetherston Blades, of Leduc, Alberta; sold with copied service papers.
