Louis Daem was born in Revelstoke, British Columbia, on 11 October 1893. A Blacksmith by occupation, he enlisted into the 121st (Western Irish) Battalion at Vancouver in January 1916, but was transferred to the 102nd Battalion on proceeding to France. Wounded on 2 November 1918, during the Battle of Valenciennes, he was invalided to England where he died of his wounds on 9 December 1918, and was buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey; sold with copied service papers.
