George Washington Deady was born in Guelph, Ontario, on 3 May 1882. Employed as a Hotel Manager, he enlisted in the 218th (Edmonton Irish) Battalion in February 1916 and was embarked forEngland in February 1917. Posted to the Canadian Railway Troops, he entered France in April 1917 and served with the 8th C.R.T. Awarded the M.S.M., he was discharged at Toronto in April 1919; sold with copied service papers.
