Rasmus Matheas Nyvoll was born in Aalfot, Nordfjord, Norway, on 2 August 1909. A Hard Rock Miner by occupation, living at Ucluelet, British Columbia, he attested for the Army at Vancouver in October 1942. Subsequently serving with the Loyal Edmonton Regiment in Italy, Nyvoll was wounded on 23 May 1944 and died of his wounds the next day. Buried in the Minturno War Cemetery, he was the son of Olai and Anna Nyvoll; sold with copied service papers.
