Henry James Price was born in Birmingham and enlisted into the King’s Royal Rifle Corps in June 1889. He was on board the troopship Warren Hastings when it was wrecked off the coast of Africa. After serving in India, South Africa, Malta and Egypt, he was discharged in September 1910 with 21 years service. He subsequently enlisted into the 7th Battalion, Black Watch, and served for five years becoming Regimental Sergeant-Major. After leaving the Army he took a position as Instructor at Eton College. Sold with a copy group photograph of Price and the Regimental Staff of Eton College Officer Training Corps.
