W. A. Heald served with the 16th (Church Lads) Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps.
John Wilmot was born and enlisted at Islington, Middlesex. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 16 April 1916, when the Germans fired a number of shells at his company’s billets during Church Parade. Five other men were wounded in this incident.
Jack Arthur Saban was born in Islington and lived at Walton-on-Naze. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 25 January 1915.
