M.S.M. London Gazette 1 December 1918. (The first M.S.M. to be awarded to the 19th London Regiment).

Harold Charlesworth enlisted on the 16th November 1915 and was posted to the 1/19th Londons in France on 16 June 1916. He was wounded in action on 17 September 1916, receiving a gunshot wound to his hand, which resulted in him having hospital treatment at Le Havre. Two weeks later he rejoined his battalion, and whilst in the trenches and wearing Full Service Marching Order, he slipped on a duck board and dislocated his shoulder. He was discharged from the army on 14 March 1918 on account of his being no longer fit for military service.
