Horace Mappin was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire in 1888. Serving in the 7th Battalion King’s Royal Rifle Corps, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 19 May 1915. Later discharged. Employed as a Postman from 1927. Awarded the I.S.M. as Postal Inspector at Torquay, Devon. Died in Middlesborough in 1964. With copied m.i.c. and census extracts.
