Great War Hartlepools Hospitals ‘Thankoffering’ Badges, comprising three badges, all in bronze and enamels, of differing designs but with similar inscriptions, eg. ‘Thankoffering to the Hartlepools Hospitals, Dec. 16th 1914’; together with a Bombardment of Scarborough Medal, in alluminium, generally good condition (4) £130-160

By way of recognising the brave contribution made by the Hartlepools Hospitals during the German Naval bombardment on 16 December 1914, it was decided by the local council that a ‘Thankoffering’ day should be held each year at the time of the anniversary. These badges were sold to raise money at this event.
