Leinster Regiment Menu Holder, a superb piece of regimental silver, hallmarks for London 1910, the base supported by four elaborate claw feet, each surmounted by a crown, the centre of the base inscribed ‘Presented to the Officers, 2nd Battn., The Leinster Regt. by Captain N. G. Burnand, 1910’, and additionally inscribed around the edge with various battle honours, applied in an upright position is the regimental device, in the form of the Prince of Wales’ feathers, with three dimensional scroll below, inscribed ‘Ich Dien’, ‘The Leinster’, a little polished, otherwise good condition and a fine quality piece £100-150

Captain N. G. Burnand was slightly wounded during the Boer War at Bamboessprit on 26 February 1902, whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Leinster Regiment.
