David Dunbar volunteered at the age of sixteen, serving aboard H.M.S. Lee, ‘ran from boat’ at Bristol, 1 June 1816, returned to H.M.S. Lee from H.M.S. Granicus, 3 July 1816. Served aboard H.M.S. Thunderer at Syria as a Ship’s Cook.
