John George Parfitt was born and lived in Kingsley, Hampshire and enlisted at Winchester, originally serving in the Dorsetshire Regiment. When serving with the 8th Battalion Devonshire Regiment, he was killed in action in Flanders, on 4 October 1917, aged 19 years. He was buried in the Birr Crossroads Cemetery, Zillebeke. He was the son of John and Louisa Parfitt, of Straits Kingsley, Bordon, Hampshire. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
