Superintendent Samuel Charles James Aldridge, Calcutta Police was awarded the R.V.M. on 9 January 1912, on the occasion of H.M. The King’s visit to India for the Durbar.

Aldridge, latterly living in Surbiton, died on 21 January 1947.
