Harold Clark was born on 16 March 1916. During the Second World War he served with the Royal Berkshire Regiment, Royal West Kent Regiment, Royal Army Ordnance Corps and the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers before volunteering for service with the Special Air Service - joining the 2nd S.A.S. Regiment. He participated in Operation Hardy in September 1944 and in Operation Archway during the closing stages of the war. After his demobilisation, he joined 21 S.A.S. in 1948 and was accepted into ‘A’ Squadron. He remained with the squadron until 1957. Clark died in Finchley, North London on 1 January 1983.
