Jubilee 1935 (Dadiba C. Mehta), good very fine £30-50
Dadiba Curtsetjee Mehta appears on the official Jubilee Medal 1935 roll, listed as an Additional Judicial Commissioner of Sind - he lived in a government house on Club Road, named after the trees abounding in the garden - “Casurinas”. He is recorded as having dealt with at least one sensitive case involving a Hindu-Muslim dispute and, once the culprits had been sentenced, was afforded police protection in the guise of a single Constable armed with a Lee Enfield .303 rifle. Mehta retired in 1938 and died at Bonus Road, Karachi, in November 1950.
