Captain Sir Bryan Godfrey-Faussett was born in 1863, the eldest son of Godfrey Trevelyan Godfrey-Faussett, of Heppington, Kent. He entered the Royal Navy in 1877 and was appointed Lieutenant in 1887, Commander in 1899 and retired as a Captain in 1906. He served as Equerry to King George V, 1901-36; Extra Equerry to King Edward VIII, 1936 and Extra Equerry to King George VI from 1937. For his services he was appointed a C.M.G. in 1908; an M.V.O. in 1906, C.V.O. in 1911, K.C.V.O. in 1919 and attained the G.C.V.O. in 1932. Was also awarded the Order of the Dannebrog, Order of Leopold of Belgium, Order of the Rising Sun, Order of the Crown of Italy and Order of the White Eagle of Serbia. Captain Sir Bryan Godfrey-Faussett died on 20 September 1945.
