A Great War M.C. attributed to Lieutenant Frederick Stanley Croker, Australian Pioneers

‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Under heavy fire he repaired a bridge which was urgently required for the advance of artillery and horse transport during an attack, and though wounded, he remained at work until the bridge was completed. He showed splendid determination and resource.’
Frederick Stanley Croker was born in Barnsdale, Victoria. An Electrical Engineer by occupation, he attested for the 9/5th Pioneers A.I.F. on 15 December 1916, aged 27 years, one month. With copied service papers. See lot 1342 for his brother’s medals.
