Three: attributed to Pilot Officer R. Hall, Royal Air Force, killed in a flying accident, 18 April 1940

Pilot Officer Ronald Hall, the pilot of Whitley V N1352 KN-D of No. 77 Squadron, was killed on the night of 18/19 April 1940 when flying from Kinross to Trondheim. At 22.07 a distress call was received from Hall’s Whitley which had ditched in the North Sea. Hall was killed but the four survivors of his crew were recovered by H.M.S. Basilisk at 02.00 on the 19th April. Hall was buried in the Lerwick New Cemetery. He was the son of William and Gertrude Hall and husband of Ida Evelina Hall, of Driffield, East Yorkshire.
