M.M. recommendation: ‘At about 1900 hrs 3 Dec 1944 T/5 Hurst bravely administered aid to several wounded men whilst under continuous enemy fire. Two hours later an enemy shell wounded several men including T/5 Hurst. Even though he received multiple shrapnel wounds in his thigh, leg and jaw T/5 Hurst moved among the wounded and rendered all the aid possible. He then succeeded in getting them all aboard vehicles while he rode on the running board until the BC placed him in the cab of the vehicle. Upon arrival at the aid station T/5 Hurst insisted that all the other wounded be cared for before himself.’
With copied (handwritten) recommendation. Together with riband bar and three cloth and three metal badges/uniform insignia for display purposes.
