Reynolds, D.S.O., D.F.C., for his part in leading the famous Aarhus Gestapo H.Q. raid in October 1944, Danish hallmarks, the lid with crowned ‘CX’ cypher on red enamelled applique panel with engraved initials ‘R. W. R.’ below, the inside lid with further engraved inscription (in Danish), ‘In Gratitude from Denmark’s Freedom Movement’, 55mm. by 65mm. (including integral latch), good very fine £300-400

Sold with original Postagram message from “Bomber” Harris congratulating Reynolds on the award of his second D.S.O., several wartime vintage photographs, including the recipient and Mosquito aircraft, and a prisoner’s identity card believed to have been recovered from Amiens Prison following the famous raid led by “Pick” Pickard in February 1944.
