Victoria (1837-1901), National Art Competition, 1857, a bronze electrotype award by A. Vechte, bust of Queen Victoria left, surrounded by a continual scene of allegorical figures, named (Charles Rough, 1865, Stage XIIa), 145mm (E 1512; cf. Burt, The Medal 5, p.48-9; cf. DNW 48, 569). Extremely fine, scarce; in original red fitted case, this rather worn and the inside of lid stained (£80-120)
