M.I.D., London Gazette, 8th October, 1982: ‘In recognition of gallant and distinguished service during the operations in the South Atlantic"" Private Simon John Alexander saw service with the 2nd Bn., Parachute Regiment, distinguishing himself during the operations at Darwin and Goose Green on 28/29 May1982, particularly as part of a six man team delegated to a fire base: ‘All the ammunition that could be collected was thrown up to their position.’ The recipient is mentioned in '2 Para Falklands, The Battalion at War' by Major-General John Frost.
