A Great War ‘Western Front’ M.M. group of four awarded to Gunner C. E. Ball, 287th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery

Military Medal, G.V.R. (40446 Gnr., 287/Sge. By. R.G.A.); British War and Victory Medals (40446 Gnr., R.A.) B.W.M. with tightened suspension claw; Regular Army L.S. & G.C., G.V.R. (1409519 Gnr., (M.M.) R.A.) together with four identity discs, Bandsman’s brass sleeve badge, and a quantity of original documentation, including: Soldiers Service and Pay Books (2), Regular Army Certificate of Service, Soldier’s Release Book, and Second Class Certificate of Education, all with heavy edge bruising and contact wear, therefore only about fine (4) £80-100

The documentation sold with the lot confirms that Ball attained the rank of Battery Quarter Master Sergeant, was heavily involved in the R.A. Band, and was additionally entitled to the Defence and War Medals.
