B.E.M. London Gazette 1 January 1945 (105 (T) O.T.U.). The recommendation states ‘This airman joined the O.T.U. at the time of its formation. He is a disciplinary N.C.O. who has proved of inestimable value to the Wing and his Adjutant. His tact, which is second only to his extreme capability, in handling numerous disciplinary problems has won him the admiration of his superiors. He has proved himself extremely able in compiling and maintaining most accurately, the complex details of all airmen in so large a Wing. He has been responsible, in a great measure, for the excellent team spirit which exists among junior N.C.O’s. Corporal Blackmore has shown thoroughness in his work and great precision in the arduous checks he has so cheerfully carried out.’
