James Kirk joined the 73rd in Calcutta and served with the regiment on the Oude and Garruchpore Frontiers, between November 1858 and May 1859, with Brigadier Rowcroft's Force. He retired by sale of his commission on 30 December 1859, after only 18 months service. Sold with further research.
