A group of five medals to Staff Sergeant H.H. Plumley, who won the M.M. in the Great War with the Hampshire Regiment, was M.I.D. and killed in action during the Second World War

TERRITORIAL FORCE WAR MEDAL (240255 Sjt., Hamps. R.); VICTORY MEDAL (Sjr., Hamps. R.); 1939-45 STAR; AFRICA STAR; WAR MEDAL, these last three in card box of issue with named condolence slip, together with illuminated Memorial Scroll (Staff Serjeant H.H. Plumley, Royal Army Service Corps), M.I.D. certificate dated 30 December 1941, original field citation for M.I.D. (Expeditionary Force - Greece), newspaper cutting and photographs, the documents a little damaged, otherwise nearly very fine or better (5)

Sergeant Plumley was mentioned in despatches in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Greece - details sold with lot. He was lost aboard H.M.S. Wryneck which was sunk by aerial bombing during the evacuation from Greece.
