Charles-Jean-Marie Degeorge (1837-1888), sculptor and medallist. Grand Prix de Rome 1866. Forrer describes his medals as among “the best of the modern masters”. This medal, issued by the Ministry of Public Works, honours the work of the French state in promoting safety in French coastal waters
