1914-15 STAR (L-9478 Pte., R.W. Kent R.); BRITISH WAR AND VICTORY MEDALS (Cpl); DEFENCE MEDAL; ARMY L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 2nd type with fixed suspension (6335448 W.O. Cl. 11, R.W. Kent R.) together with the following shooting awards: Rhine Forces skill at arms (2), silver and bronze, both named; Northern Ireland District Rifle Meeting 1924 (2), silver and enamel, both named; A.R.A. bronze medal 1922, Highest Score, named; A.R.A. bronze medal (4), watch fob size, all unnamed; 2nd Bn. R.W. Kent, silver medal (2), bronze medal (1), all watch fob size and unnamed, very fine or better (17)

Edgar Charles Grenville Taplen served with the 2nd Bn. Royal West Kent Regiment in Mesopotamia from February 1915. He was awarded the Long Service medal in 1929 and retired as Warrant Officer Class 2 in April 1931. The lot is sold with good research on his shooting career.
