1st West India Regiment, a very scarce officer’s helmet plate c1878-1901, the crowned star pattern helmet with three applied battle honour rays, Martinique, Guadaloupe Ashantee, an overlay of half laurel half palm sprays with the honour Dominica at the base, within an oval strap inscribed West India Regiment, centrally on a background of black leather the gilt numeral ‘1’, slight crushing to the orb & cross section of the crown and one reverse loop missing otherwise in very good condition (1) £130-160
