Capture of the Island of Cayenne 1809, silver-gilt, contained in original copper shells, the top lid inscribed in ink “Prince Regent of Portugal 1809”, small test mark to rim, otherwise good very fine and very scarce

Awarded by the Prince Regent of Portugal to his officers and troops, and also to Captain J. L. Yeo and 80 seamen and marines from the Confiance, who carried three forts by storm, and routed the French General, Victor Hugues, and his troops, from the island of Cayenne in French Guiana, January, 1809.
