London Pitt Club Badge, silver-gilt, with central ‘cameo’ effigy of William Pitt, the reverse inscribed (The Revd. Joseph Benson D.D.) good very fine

The Rev. Dr. Joseph Benson was elected a Member of the London Pitt Club (Hounslow) in 1829. Educated at Oxford, St. Edmund Hall, B.A. 1807, M.A. 1807; Queen’s College, B.D. & D.D. 1819. Took Holy Orders in 1806 and from 1851 till his death in 1861, was Rector of St. Breok, Wadebridge, Cornwall.
