H.M.S. Bath (ex U.S.S. Hopewell) was commissioned on 23 September 1940. She was part of the 5th Escort Group, on loan to the Royal Norwegian Navy, principally engaged in escorting the OG/HG convoys to and from Gibralter. While escorting her sixth convoy, OG71, she was torpedoed by U202 on 19 August 1941, and sank rapidly. The Naval L.S. & G.C. named to H.M.S. Bath is believed to be unique.
