Korea; General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Cyprus (4387717 S.Sgt., Green Howards); Regular Army L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R., 2nd issue, with extra long service clasp (4387717 Cpl., Green Howards); Meritorious Service Medal, E.II.R., 2nd issue (4387717 Sgt., Green Howards) the first with some corrections, contact marks but generally very fine or better (10)

The lot is sold with two Regular Army Certificates of Service and original citation for the M.S.M.
George Dearing Ward enlisted at Durham on 9 August 1932, aged 24. He served abroad in India from December 1935 to August 1945; Hong Kong, November 1942 to April 1953; Korea, April 1953 to February 1955; M.E.L.F., February to November 1955. Ward was finally discharged at York on 25 July 1963, after 31 years with the Colours.
