Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp (Lieut. D. F. A. R. Ancketill, 2nd Belooch. Regt.) first two letters of surname corrected, otherwise very fine

David Fitz-Ameline Robert Ancketill was born 27 May, 1855; 2/Lieut., Royal Scots, 8 December, 1877; transferred to the Indian Army, 4th Bombay N.I., 1880; attached to 29th N.I. (2nd Belooch Regiment) as Lieutenant and Adjutant; served in Afghanistan 1880 (medal), and Egypt 1882 (medal and bronze star). On 26 August, 1885, he committed suicide “While of unsound mind” and was subsequently buried at Karachi, Lahore.
