General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Northern Kurdistan (F/O G. H. A. Blackwood, R.A.F.) very fine and rare to an officer

Flying Officer Guy Hamilton Ava Blackwood served in Northern Kurdistan with No. 70 Squadron from 23 January, 1932, taking part in the operations there between March and June of that year. The Squadron, equipped with Victoria aircraft, was based at Hinaidi in the Iraq Command, Flying Officer Blackwood being posted there for Air Pilotage duties. He was promoted Flight Lieutenant in 1938, and Squadron Leader in 1941. Sold with further details.
Only 66 R.A.F. officers qualified for this clasp, the only one issued with the George V crowned head obverse.
