Royal Humane Society, an early vellum award document dated the 4th day of February, 1829, whereby ‘It was resolved unanimously that the Honorary Medallion of this Society is awarded to Lieutenant Adams of his Majesty’s Sloop “Childers”, as a Record of his singular Humanity and Contempt of Danger on several occasions, whereby he has saved from drowning at imminent hazard to himself, the lives of no lefs than Seven Individuals.’, together with original Warrant appointing John Adams Esqre. to be Rear Admiral in Her Majesty’s Fleet, dated 6th February, 1863, good condition (2)

Admiral John Adams received the Naval General Service 1793-1840, with 2 Boat Service clasps for 14 July 1809 (Midshipman, Scout, 7 issued), and 1 November 1809 (110 issued). Full particulars of this gallant officer’s services will be found in O’Byrne’s Naval Biography.
