Auction Catalogue
Victoria (1837-1901), Gothic Florin, 1852, from a different obverse die to previous. Minor hairlines in obverse field and a tiny rim nick on obverse (3 o’clock), otherwise brilliant with prooflike fields, the reverse flawless; undoubtedly an early striking and rare as such (£150-200)
One of the most attractive currency examples of a Gothic Florin the cataloguer has seen; the reverse may indeed have been struck from a Proof die (cf. ESC p.94, footnote 4).
