Ernesta Robert-Mérignac (1858-1933), female sculptor and medallist from Saint-Omer, was one of the most widely exhibited French artists of her day. Her particular specialities were female portraiture and fencing.

The Church of St. Jean at Poitou is said to be the oldest Christian edifice in France
