Waterloo 1815 (Corp. John Lee, 2nd Batt. 44th Reg. Foot) fitted with replacement steel clip and ring suspender, contact marks and edge bruising, therefore good fine and better

John Lee was born in Aspull, Wigan, Lancaster, and was a weaver by trade. He enrolled for the 1st Royal Lancashire Militia at Worcester on 23 October, 1810, and attested for the 44th Foot at Dalkeith on 1 April, 1813, at the age of Twenty years. He served in Holland and France from November 1813 to January 1816, and was present at the battle of Waterloo where he served in Captain Dudie’s company. He was promoted Sergeant on 16 June, 1821, and was discharged on medical grounds on 11 August, 1835. Sold with copy discharge papers.
