France, Sévres Silhouette, Duc de Berri, hard paste biscuit porcelain silhoutte portrait, circa 1820, modelled by Brachard, impressed “Sévres”. Repaired, very fine (£80-100)

Charles, Duc de Berri (1778-1820) Youngest son of Charles X, assasinated at the Opera on 13th February 1820. His death was seen by many close to the King as a liberal plot which had to be suppressed and under right wing pressure new repressive laws were justified and passed
