Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (D. Baillie, Trmptr., 2nd Btn. Rl. --) officially impressed naming, heavy contact wear and edge bruising obliterating part of unit detail, therefore fine £60-80

Douglas Baillie was born in the parish of Woolwich, Kent, in 1838. He attested for the Royal Artillery on 10 September 1850 at the age of just 12 years and three months, at this time his height was given as just 4 feet 4 inches. As well as serving in the Crimea, he served during the Indian Mutiny, and was entitled to the Indian Mutiny Medal without clasp. He was discharged on 29 August 1877, having served for a total of 27 years. Sold with copied service papers.
