John Megginson was born and enlisted at Scarborough, Yorkshire. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 28 February 1915 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment. He is buried at Rue-David Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix, France.
